🌍 COMMUNITY
MY DESIGN JOURNEY - SO FAR!
WHERE IT ALL BEGAN - STORYTELLING VIA MANGA ART
Growing up in a family with a strong artistic background, I was always surrounded by creativity and innovation. My cousins were my first inspiration, and their talent in drawing fueled my passion for art and design. Moving frequently due to my mother’s career as a flight attendant exposed me to diverse cultures and design aesthetics, shaping my global perspective.
FINDING MY CREATIVE VOICE IN THE PORTLAND AAPI COMMUNITY
When I moved to Portland to attend college, I found a way to break into the tight-knit AAPI community by working with small businesses, designing their branding and digital presence. One of my notable projects was the website redesign for Bing Mi, a beloved Chinese restaurant. This project allowed me to blend traditional design elements with modern UX principles, resulting in a significant boost in online engagement.
MERGING STORYTELLING & DESIGN IN CUSTOM ART
Another significant milestone in my journey was the custom Air Force 1 designs for Jason Chu’s album “We Were The Seeds.” This project allowed me to merge my love for storytelling and design, creating a unique product that resonated with the AAPI community.
WHAT’s NEXT?
Currently, I’m working on large-scale projects that involve complex problem-solving and team collaboration. My role as a Program Manager at Nike has honed my skills in managing multiple stakeholders and delivering high-quality projects on time.
